Welcome to Carolina Conceptions
Making Families a Reality

Welcome to Carolina Conceptions!  We are a private fertility practice located in Raleigh, NC with physicians who are fellowship-trained and board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.  Our compassionate staff is dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with infertility.  The team of physicians, nurses, and embryologists provide the most current and innovative practice techniques that promise to deliver the highest success rates in the country.  Learn more about Carolina Conceptions and how we can help you make your family a reality.

HOW DO I EVALUATE IVF PROGRAMS AND THEIR SUCCESS RATES?

1) Go to SART.org to see IVF success rates for any IVF program in the United States. SART (Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies) is where all IVF programs report their pregnancy outcomes. Click on the state you are interested in and all the programs are listed. Click on “ART data report” and notice pregnancy rates for your age group (<35, 35-37, etc). “Percentage of transfers resulting in live births” is one of the most important categories. It tells you how many women delivered a baby after an embryo transfer at that program.

2) Are the doctors at your IVF program FELLOWSHIP trained and SUBSPECIALTY BOARD CERTIFIED in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility? Most Ob-Gyn doctors are board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology but the most highly trained infertility doctors are also SUBSPECIALTY board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). All three physicians at Carolina Conceptions are subspecialty certified. This means we have completed an additional 3 years of fellowship training after our 4 years in Ob-gyn residency and have passed the written and oral exams in Obstetrics and Gynecology and then in REI. Be sure to check your clinic’s credentials.

3) Are you receiving the care and attention you desire? Are your doctors accessible to you throughout your treatment? At Carolina Conceptions, we pride ourselves on patient care and customer service. All physicians, nurses, embryologists and staff members are accessible by email and phone. It is our personal mission to help you make having a family a reality. We feel it is very important that you have confidence and trust in your IVF team.

4) Are the IVF program costs transparent? IVF is an effective but expensive therapy. We make every effort to offer transparent and competitive IVF costs, counseling with our financial representatives and financing if needed. There are less expensive IVF programs than ours but their pregnancy rates may not be as competetive. For how to evaluate pregnancy rates, please see paragraph (1) above.

Breaking News

Carolina Conceptions passes unannounced FDA inspections with flying colors

The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) oversees IVF clinics in the United States and their role in egg, sperm, and embryos, and related donation programs through a series of stringent requirements for screening, handling, and recipient preparation.

FDA inspectors make impromptu visits to various practices that are doing IVF or egg donation to review lab policies, procedures and outcomes.

Since opening in August of 2006, Carolina Conceptions has now passed two unannounced inspections.

"Many Women Underestimate Fertility Clock's Clang" (NPR Article and Podcast)

A new survey finds a big disconnect when it comes to fertility. The age women think they can conceive a baby is far different from what their bodies are actually capable of. This poses an increasing problem, as more women wait longer than ever to have children.

Surrogates (Gestational Carriers) Needed!

Carolina Conceptions is recruiting healthy women, ages 25 to 38, who would be willing to carry a pregnancy for couples who are able to conceive but unable to carry a pregnancy due to health problems. The eggs will be provided by our patient (intended parent) or an egg donor, so you, as the carrier, will not have a genetic connection to the baby. You must be non smoking, non obese, no health problems, have a normal uterus and have been previously pregnant. Legal contracts, physical exam, and monitoring of early pregnancy will be coordinated through our office. Compensation will be minimally 20,000 dollars. If interested, email Terry Hunter at

Please Contact Carolina Conceptions if you have questions about infertility, egg donation, IVF, IUI, gestational carriers or other fertility related issues.
