Known collectively as "Micromanipulation", Assisted Hatching (AH), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) are advanced techniques used in conjunction with in vitro fertilization (IVF). Microscopic instruments allow for the manipulation of oocytes (eggs), sperm and embryos in order to overcome specific complications and increase the chances of a successful IVF cycle.
