Our IVF Lab: What Makes it Special?

With all of the fertility clinics out there, why pick Carolina Conceptions?

Our team at Carolina Conceptions is comprised of individuals from the best fertility practices within the Triangle area. We're dedicated to accomplishing your dream of having a family! Because we are small in number, we're able to build a relationship with you that begins with your first consultation, and extends far into your pregnancy. You'll be able to put names with face, and will never be treated as a number. It is the goal of everyone at Carolina Conceptions for you to feel comfortable with our practice.

We're located in a private setting, free of the hassles of a hospital environment. Our infertility practice is CAP accredited CLIA certified. With the exception of a few screening labs, all IVF procedures are conducted in our on-site, state-of-the-art laboratory. Within, you'll find the most cutting edge technology—including the use of a laser for genetic testing and micromanipulation. The laser is used under microscope guidance to perform assisted hatching of embryos to facilitate implantation and embryo biopsy for genetic testing. In some cases, low oxygen tension/nitrogen incubators are recommended for use instead of the standard carbon dioxide incubators, to simulate the woman’s fallopian tube environment. The lab is designed so that the transfer rooms open through a door directly into the lab. Embryos are brought by the embryologist directly into the transfer room so that she can assist with the transfer.

Atmospheric conditions are held to a strict standard, and culture conditions are tailored to match patient needs. We utilize the latest blastocyst culture and transfer techniques to maximize pregnancy rates. A high pressure air flow system forces air from the lab into the rest of the clinic to keep air quality where it is needed.

(Note: Our lab passed FDA inspection 2-28-08)
