What Our Patients are Saying
In a world where online reputation has become so important, we are grateful to the existing and former patients who have taken the time to share their CC experience online. This is especially appreciated due to the private nature of our business. Many couples do not feel comfortable sharing their fertility journey with their closest friends and family, let alone in such a public space online.
Thank you to those who are sharing publicly on Facebook, Google, or Yelp. You are brave and helping others to see fertility is no longer a taboo subject. You inspire others with your story and are help others decide who to trust when considering fertility clinics.
We take the privacy of our patients seriously. We know it takes courage to talk about fertility openly. We are so thankful for the sites that offer patients the opportunity to share their experience anonymously on FertilityIQ and Healthgrades (individual physician profiles on Healthgrades: Dr. Meyer, Dr. Couchman, Dr. Park, Dr. Bowling).
My first baby was born in June of 2000 and my last was born March of 2016 needless to say, we had major issues….so we thought. After MANY years and Many doctor’s trying to help us, we were referred here. Less than 6mos and that includes everything from initial contact, testing, coming up with a game plan and 2 IUIs, we became pregnant!!! I always thought I would just have my one child and now I have two. I don’t think words can justify my feelings for CC….we NEVER thought this would work after crickets for 16 years. The ENTIRE staff was completely a pleasure to work with and I recommend CC to anyone having infertility issues. Our little miracle (40wks and 1 day) was born 3/3/16 @ 8:47pm weighing 8.8lbs and 22.5inches, we are so in love.

My husband and I can’t thank Carolina Conceptions enough. We struggled with fertility issues for 10 years before consulting with Dr. Meyer. Amazingly, after 1 month of treatment, we conceived. We are getting ready to celebrate the first birthday of our baby girl. We are so thankful for the support and kindness we received from the Carolina Conceptions staff. We also realize just how fortunate we were to have success so early, however, we know it wouldn’t have happened without a little “help” from Carolina Conceptions. Thanks to you all!

I moved from Boston to Charlotte, NC. in 2015 and the fertility center in Boston recommended Carolina Conceptions. Although I was living in Charlotte, I made the drive to Raleigh (3 hours away) and I am so glad I did! I made an appointment with Dr. Meyer and I am happy to report, in June 2016, after one round of IVF, I gave birth to my son. I could not be more grateful to the Doctors, and entire staff at Carolina Conceptions. The administrative staff was friendly and easy to speak with (I remember Steven very much and how great he was!). The Doctors, nurses, embryologists are incredibly professional and I felt very comfortable with all of them (although my doctor was Dr. Meyer, I also saw Dr. Couchman and Dr. Park). Trying to have a child is a very personal and INTENSE journey! I had a wonderful experience and absolutely recommend Carolina Conceptions!
AS, Charlotte, NC
My fiancé and I met with Dr. Meyer in March 2016. He was so easy to talk to and reassuring that we were making the right decision. The entire IVF process was seamless, from the monitoring appts to calling and having questions answered. Dr. Meyer and staff took every precaution necessary to make this a successful round of IVF. Now here we are 8 weeks pregnant after our first fresh cycle!! To say we are blessed is an understatement. Thank you to EVERYONE at CC for your support!
We are so thankful that we chose Carolina Conceptions. From the front desk staff, to the financial advisers, nurses, to the doctors everyone was upbeat and positive. We tried for 8 years unsuccessfully to get pregnant. After coming to Carolina Conceptions we did go through 3 IUIs, resulting in one pregnancy. Sadly we miscarried with that pregnancy. After the miscarriage Dr. Park met back with us and suggested IVF. After many meetings and emails with Kelly Moege, Financial Coordinator, and many prayers we decided to go through IVF. Happily we conceived on the first round. We are glad to say that we now have a healthy, beautiful, baby girl that in now almost 7 weeks old!
We could not be happier with the service we received. By the end of our treatment we truly felt like a member of the Carolina Conception family. We will forever be grateful to everyone at Carolina Conceptions.

After trying for 3 years, once I found out I had severe Endometriosis, I came to Carolina Conceptions. Each nurse and doctor were all friendly and knew me by name. We are so thankful for the technology. doctors, and after artificial insemination, my husband and I conceived. We are so happy for finally having a family.
K & D, Raleigh, NC
My husband and I have tried to get pregnant for 4 years with no luck. We first went to the only fertility clinic in Greenville with no luck. After I was diagnosed with endometriosis they started me on clomid. After only one unsuccessful try with IUI, the doctor was already suggesting IVF which I thought was crazy since that was going to be our very last option. I cannot express how different these two clinics are. In Greenville, everyone treated you like you were just one of thousands of patients they have. After our first visit with Dr. Meyer, I knew this was the place. He knew exactly what we were going through emotionally and it was refreshing to have a doctor relate like he’s gone through it himself. He started me on Follistim which was never even suggested in Greenville. After two rounds we were pregnant! Our baby girl is 12 weeks old now and is a dream come true. We cannot be happier with the level of service we received here. I highly reccommend this place. They truly were like a family. Everyone was so caring and very personable. Everyone knew your name and were sincerely rooting for you. We are forever grateful.

Where to begin, I now have a beautiful 4 month old son due to the doctors at CC.
At 41 years young, I wasn’t sure that it was possible or going to be easy. But the staff’s professionalism assured me into the process. We got pregnant after our first round of meds and timed intercourse. Thank you is not a big enough expression as to what you gave to us. CC has our deepest gratitude!

It’s been six years since I gave birth to a healthy baby boy and I know I’ve said this before and submitted a testimonial years ago, but THANK YOU! There isn’t a year that goes by that Carolina Conceptions and the staff involved in my treatment doesn’t come across my mind as we celebrate my son’s birthday. I am amazed that we were blessed with such a wonderful child and that we were taken care of so well…every.step.of.the.way. From our initial consult with Dr. Couchman to the embryo transfer with Dr. Park to the follow up phone call from Dr. Meyer asking “have you cheated yet?” (a little game the office plays to see who gets the info first) we were met with compassion, care and understanding. Cheating, by the way, is taking a pregnancy test before your scheduled follow up visit post transfer. And no, I hadn’t cheated, but as soon as I hung up the phone with Dr. Meyer, I left my office, headed to the drugstore and cheated…sadly, a few of my very close co-workers knew I was pregnant before my dear husband!
The entire Carolina Conceptions team was always ready to answer my questions and walk me through whatever the issue was as many times as I needed it. So…as I head into my 7th year as a mom, I wanted to pause and once again say thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I first went to Carolina Conceptions in June 2014. From the very beginning the staff has been wonderful! Stephen was the first person I spoke with. He helped me get an appointment even though I had a difficult schedule. He set the tone for the wonderful experience I have had. Everyone I have worked with from the Drs to the nurses to finance and reception have been kind and helpful. I am very happy to say I am pregnant.

We could not be happier with the care we received at Carolina Conceptions. They were not our first fertility clinic but they will be our last. The staff was so positive and supportive and when struggling with fertility that really makes a difference. We went through IVF and were blessed with healthy baby boy. Dr. Couchman was available throughout the process. She always responded quickly even on vacation and holidays. We will certainly be putting ourselves in their care if we need to for baby number 2. Thank you Carolina Conceptions!

I love and miss everyone at Carolina Conceptions! My husband and I are in our early 30s and after a year of trying on our own, we were referred to Carolina Conceptions. Initially the referral was to have a few tests done to determine if we could conceive, but after having such a great experience at our visit, my husband and I agreed to let them handle our infertility needs. Every staff member from the doctors, financial consultants, nurses, and the front desk personnel were completely professional but more importantly very caring. We went through three different IUI cycles. The first did not succeed, the second took but did not attach, and finally the third led us to where we are today, happily 6 months pregnant with our first child. The hardest part of this process was getting a positive pregnancy test after the 2nd IUI but then finding out it was not a viable pregnancy. The doctors, nurses, and lab techs were so supportive and helped keep me positive during the few days of blood draws and waiting for results. They also helped me greatly with getting the right prescriptions and supplies. We paid out of pocket for everything except the prescriptions and when our pharmacy didn’t have the application pen for our medicine, Carolina Conceptions gave me one to borrow at the last minute. After they successfully helped me get pregnant, I was then transferred to an OB/GYN. I was sad to leave. They were so wonderful and caring to my husband and I, that I wished we could stay with them throughout our pregnancy. I am so thankful from the bottom of my heart for the miracle they helped create. If my husband and I are unable to conceive naturally again, I will not hesitate to return. Thank you for everything you do.

Thank you all for being so wonderful during our time at Carolina Conceptions! I have never met a group of people that were so kind and always so happy! Infertility and the pain of not knowing if you can conceive or not is about the hardest thing I have ever dealt with in my life, but going to a place where everyone has a smile on their face and is always willing to do whatever it takes to help you out, makes it a little easier to deal with. Fortunately our 1st IUI we were able to conceive our precious little boy. I have never been so happy, so grateful, and so full of love! He is now 3 months old and happy and healthy. I thank everyone when had a hand in this. God sure did answer my prayers, just in his own time! Thank you again for everything. I am so glad that I now have a picture of my son to give to you to hang in the wall!

First off let me just say that if you have stumbled upon this website you are in the right place! Carolina Conceptions is the place you want to be to build your family! You will get the best care and attention you need. We are so grateful and thankful for our journey with this practice. After 6 years of struggling to get pregnant we were referred to CC and have not looked back. Our infertility struggles stemmed from having bad fallopian tubes and I needed to remove them to move forward with IVF. It was scary to say the least to remove a part of your body that allows you to become pregnant the natural way, but we trusted CC and went ahead with surgery. Our first IVF cycle was in February of 2013 to where we transferred 2 of our embryo babies, but unfortunately we did not end up pregnant. Thankfully we had one frosty left and we kept it frozen for a year and went back on March 21, 2014 and had it implanted. That day was so different than our first fresh IVF. We were less stressed and Dr. Meyer and his staff made us feel so comfortable. They had Krispy Kreme donuts that morning at their office and after our transfer Dr. Meyer made sure to give us a couple donuts! I believe those donuts helped our frosty stick lol! 2 weeks later we found out we were pregnant and welcomed our sweet Fiona Drew on 11/30/2014! She is our miracle baby who had a 35% chance of sticking around….God had a plan and he has a plan for your life if you are reading this. Numbers mean very little when it comes to God and a great practice. Dr. Park and Dr. Meyer are great. Dr. Park helped us get to where we are today and we are just so thankful. They really care about helping you build your family! Dr. Couchman is great too. Nurse Terry is absolutely amazing too. All of the staff is great. You cannot go wrong here! Thanks to the whole CC staff for helping us get our little girl!

I began going to Carolina Conceptions in 2011 after unsuccessfully becoming pregnant. They worked with me for 2 and a half years, and treated me with the utmost compassion and respect. Everyone on staff from the reception desk to the nurses and doctors were friendly and welcoming. I knew from the start that this was not an experience like going to the regular doctor. It seems that everyone hopes for the best for their patients and when you have disappointments, they are disappointed right with you. When you have success, they genuinely are thrilled right with you. My husband and I were finally able to have a child of our own after almost 3 years and we can’t thank Carolina Conceptions enough for helping us on this journey.

Moving to North Carolina a year ago from out of state, and finding out after over a year of trying that IVF would be our only option, finding a clinic locally was so overwhelming. There are many to choose from, and I called most infertility clinics within a 3 hour radius to where we would be living in Sneads Ferry. From a phone call alone, the decision was clear. The staff at Carolina Conceptions, from the Doctors to nurses, to front office staff and financial advisors, all the way back to the lab technicians was the most amazing customer service I have ever experienced. When you struggle with infertility, all you want going through this very stressful and emotional roller coaster of a journey is to work with a team of people who treat you with the compassion that you desire going through something so hard. That is what you will get at CC! All the other clinics made me feel like a number, an income, a dollar sign.
Dr. Grace Couchman was the perfect amount of professional, mixed with compassion, and I could not have asked for a better experience. She always answered my emails, even on the weekends!! I could not believe the level of care she provided. The nurse on our case Terry Hunter was just as amazing. I wouldn’t always get calls or updates from just these two ladies, but anyone that called me knew everything about my case and could answer any question I had. The process of going through IVF with this clinic was just amazingly seamless and easy! My husband is military, and this practice accommodated to his crazy schedule and even had staff on hand over the weekend come in just to work around our schedule. We had to do remote monitoring due to living in Sneads Ferry, and the doctor’s office they set us up with in Wilmington was just as fantastic. Dr. William Cooper was great!
They completely supported my wants and wishes to skip all the in between options that could have made them more money but may not have worked, and never once questioned my determination to go straight to the IVF. All of the other clinics we had talked to wanted us to try a million things that would have cost us an absurd amount of money, only to probably have to do the IVF my gut told me would work. We did our first round of IVF in August of 2014 (male factor infertility), transferred two embryos and found out two weeks later it had worked! We were pregnant with twins. Unfortunately we lost one of our babies at 8 and a half weeks, but Dr. Couchman handled me beautifully with her explanation as to why this happened, and put me at ease with any concerns I had. I am now 23 Weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy and I owe everything to this practice. We WILL be using this clinic again when we decide to do the transfer of our frozen embryos later down the road. The cost of this practice was SLIGHTLY more expensive than a few others, but by far exceeds any and all expectations you would have when going through this process.
Thank you Carolina Conceptions, Dr. Couchman, and the entire team that worked with my husband and me and made our dreams of having a family a reality!

I must begin by saying I absolutely love Carolina Conceptions! I began my journey with CC a few months ago. My partner and I planned to have a child earlier this year and began researching options to expand our family. We searched for fertility clinics and specialists in NC and the first hit was CC. We looked at all of the testimonials and was convinced this had to be the place for us. We scheduled a consultation with Dr. Meyer in July 2014. He was inviting, informative, and honest about options and costs. We decided that IUI would be the best option as I do not have any fertility issues. We spoke with the lab technician about sperm options and the financial specialists about insurance expectations and costs. We left the office that day feeling welcome, informed, and hopeful. Within a month’s time I began the blood work and initial appointments. I was approved to begin my first round of Femara and had 2 mature follicles (one on each side). I was inseminated in September 2014. The nurse was kind enough to let my partner insert the sperm (under her close supervision of course). We conceived on the first try!!! We couldn’t be happier. We love CC and would recommend it to anyone. The staff is great and inviting, but most of all, they helped make our family a reality.

We first came to Carolina Conceptions in 2012 for an infertility diagnosis. Dr. Grace Couchman was able to give us a diagnosis rather quickly and a suggested conception plan. Within a matter of months, we were pregnant with our son who was born the next April. Dr. Couchman, her partner physicians, nurses, and office staff were amazing through the entire process. Everyone was friendly, comforting, and accommodating through what is understandably a very stressful time. Because our experience was so positive, we visited Dr. Couchman again earlier this year for another consultation. She again recommended a conception plan for us and within the next month we were pregnant again! We are expecting our little girl in the next few weeks. I cannot say enough good things about this facility. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Couchman and her staff to anyone who is looking for assistance in starting a family.

I went to Carolina Conceptions after being diagnosed with Asherman’s syndrome as a result of a miscarriage of our first pregnancy.
We primarily saw Couchman and had a few visits with Dr. Meyer. My husband and I were so impressed with the care and treatment we received from everyone at Carolina Conceptions. The doctors took all the time we needed to answer our questions and were thorough in their answers. I am fortunate the case of Asherman’s was not severe which we learned after the surgery. Just a few short months later, under the care of Dr. Couchman and Dr. Meyer we were pregnant again. We are happy to report that we are 22 weeks along with a healthy baby girl.
The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish they would continue seeing us through our pregnancy since they are the best in town!

My husband and I have been patients of Carolina Conceptions since spring 2012 and now have a beautiful daughter born via a wonderful gestational carrier. Working with Carolina Conceptions has been a great experience – doctors at CC are not only highly skilled but also have empathy; staff at CC are helpful, warm, and prompt.”
KH, Raleigh, NC
I am 37 years old and currently a 3rd time Gestational Carrier. I worked with another agency for my first 2 journeys and with Carolina Conceptions for my current journey. My experiences as a carrier for my first family (2 siblings) were so fulfilling that I knew that I wanted to be a carrier again, but this time I contacted Carolina Conceptions directly. The prospect of less travel and the ability to help a local family was very appealing. Plus, having been in Carolina Conceptions’ office for my monitoring with my 2 previous journeys, I already knew that the staff was warm and inviting. Every email and every phone call has always been returned quickly. When I was matched with my current family, we were all very eager to get things started. I am quite certain that if I didn’t have a 3 week family vacation planned before the match, it would have been even faster. I am now expecting twins in late 2014 for the family in which I was matched with. The ease of communication with CC is just wonderful. I was never made to feel like I was calling too often or asking too many questions. When I would go in for blood tests and hormone level checks, I was never left to wait impatiently by the phone for results. Not only was it clear that my time was important to them, but I could tell that they were all cheering me on, hoping for the best outcome. The smiling faces of the staff at the reception area, were always present when I walked off the elevator. When a problem arose after my transfer, I was brought into the office quickly. Thankfully, everything turned out fine, but seeing the concern on the faces of Dr. Park and Tammy helped me feel less alone at a pretty scary moment. Even after being released to my own OB for the remainder of the pregnancy, I still feel the kindness of CC through emails. I really feel that my joy (that of myself and the intended parents) is Carolina Conceptions’ joy too, and I can’t wait to see the pictures of these twins of the cork board at Carolina Conceptions’ office when I possibly walk in for my 4th journey!
TG, Raleigh, NC
My husband and I had a very positive experience at Carolina Conceptions. We mainly saw Dr. Meyer who was very helpful and attentive to our case. We received excellent care from all of the doctors, nurses and entire staff. Going through this process is so very taxing, emotional and draining and the staff at CC goes out of their way to make it as pleasant as possible. I would refer anyone to this clinic, I have a beautiful 4 month old daughter who is giggling away as I write this! I am very thankful to Dr. Meyer and CC for helping me have a healthy baby!
SM, Holly Springs, NC
I couldn’t have done it without the help of Carolina Conceptions. Just when I wanted to give up hope of having another child I became pregnant. Dr. Park and Dr. Meyer made me feel very comfortable. I can’t say enough about all the other staff. From the time you walk in the door and get greeted by the front desk staff who always act like they remember you and the wonderful nurses. The insurance department was also very helpful when I got new insurance. I would recommend this practice to anyone who asks. Thank you for my beautiful baby!
RH, Raleigh, NC
My husband and I would not have our son and daughter if it were not for the wonderful and knowledgeable staff and Carolina Conceptions. We were told we couldn’t conceive using our own genetics by other clinics but Carolina Conceptions helped us do just that. They are up to date on the latest technology, procedures, and research. I could go on and on but I have to chase down my toddlers!
SH, Raleigh, NC
As stressful and time consuming as infertility can be, there is no place like Carolina conceptions. My primary doctor was Couchman but I got to meet all three doctors work as a team and keep up to date with you care, respond to email or phone call asap. Care was individualized to my specific problem not just one approach fits all kind of care. The doctors actually take the time with patients and show concern and compassion. Even when you return after a break, they know you as an individual not just another patient. From the front desk I always got a warm welcome to the lab. To be biased I always waited for Elisa for blood draw and once even Nikki, the manager, stepped in the lab to help. Am so grateful I choose this place, I now get to enjoy my two boys. To anyone struggling with infertility, waste no more time go see the doctors at CC.
RL, Wilson, NC
We have had a wonderful experience with CC! They are such a kind and supportive team. We have 2 very healthy children due to their help. They made the process of getting pregnant very seamless. Dr. Couchman was our primary doctor and she was wonderful (so are the other 2!). They are very responsive as well and treat you like you are the only one in their office, which is wonderful! Should we choose to have another child, they will be our only choice.
DT, Raleigh, NC
Our experience at CC was great. Dr. Meyer met with us initially and was very easy to talk to and answered all our questions. Dr. Park worked with us as well. Both were great! The early appointments were so wonderful. This helped me not to miss much work at all. Infertility is very stressful and hard to deal with, but CC was there every step of the way. All the doctors and nurses we always available by email or phone throughout the process as well. We now have a beautiful 1 year old who is the love of our life. We couldn’t be happier.
CM, Rocky Mount, NC
Met with all the doctors & they all are very knowledgeable. Nurses & staff are awesome! They remember who you are and genuinely care. You will have lots of appointments so that is what hit home with me. Morning appointments were a PLUS for me as I did not miss too much work. Now we are parents to 3 little ones (big sister & twin boys) and so thrilled CC made our family a reality. Thank you!!
AJ, Raleigh, NC
I just graduated from this practice today and will be moving on to a regular OB. I am so sad to leave, because I have never received such excellence in medical care as I did at Carolina Conceptions. Everyone I dealt with at the front desk was warm, encouraging, and all around thrilled for us when I became pregnant. All the nurses were helpful and knowledgeable about every part of the process. The financial department is great as well. Dr. Meyer was my primary Dr. and he was wonderful. He moved fast to get me pregnant. He personally called and emailed me various times during the process and he was always reachable immediately. I saw Dr. Park and Dr. Couchman for various procedures and they are also awesome. We did IVF with embryo biopsy and got pregnant on the first attempt. Highly recommend this practice!
MG, Cary, NC
I highly recommend thinking about conceiving babies in Carolina Conceptions. Thanks so much to Dr. Meyer and his great team. Now I got pregnant and is now moved to a regular OB. Dr. Meyer is very skilled. He identified the problems of my tubes, which failed to be found in another clinic, and suggested IVF instead of tubal sticky surgery. He also suggested me to do it quickly. My husband and I both believe that Dr. Myer’s diagnoses and the act-quickly strategy is the reason that I can get pregnant so quickly. After all, I am almost 34 years old now. Dr. Meyer and his team are also very responsible. They patiently answered all my questions and responded to my email very quickly. I often have tons of questions. I remembered that my ovary was a little inactive to the ovulation-promoting shots. Dr. Meyer and Tammy adjusted the dose several times and controlled the time to retrieve very well, I think. So I can get an appropriate number of eggs. And I also want to thank you every people I deal with at the front desk. They are very, very nice. Thank you, Dr. Meyer and CC. I wish I can take my babies to revisit you soon.
KP, Washington DC
From the moment I walked into the office at Carolina Conceptions, I was very impressed. The front desk staff was so nice and welcoming and all the patients I came in contact with were smiling and seemed very happy. I saw Dr. Bill Meyer and he was so very nice. He took the time to answer all my questions. I have to say, I am 36 years old and my husband and I were wanting a chance at having a baby. Even after I left the office, I was given Dr. Meyers email address and I thought of a few questions later I had forgotten during the visit. My questions were always answered within an hour, by him personally. I was quite impressed. Here it is 8 months since my first visit and I am almost 12 weeks pregnant with Twins! We couldn’t be happier. If you are looking for a place where you will find personalized care and doctors and nurses that actually care, look no further! Carolina Conceptions has all of that and more. You will not be disappointed!
BN, Manson, NC
If you are having any difficulty conceiving, Carolina Conceptions is a wonderful place to receive help. All three physicians are caring and compassionate, and Dr. Couchman (my primary physician) was always available to answer all of my questions, including evenings and weekends! The entire staff here is knowledgeable and legitimately cared about how I was doing. They are flexible with scheduling the many tests and appointments necessary so that I never had to take a day off work, and everything is explained beforehand so I understood what was needed. I highly recommend this practice–I certainly never felt like another number, I felt like a person.
AW, Chapel Hill, NC
Carolina Conceptions is great! I was very skeptical and frankly embarrassed about having to see someone regarding fertility issues. The Doctors and staff and Carolina Conceptions welcomed me and made me feel extremely comfortable. They never treated me like just another patient. They were always very positive and took an interest in our situation. Any facility can have top of the line equipment and resources but it’s the staff at Carolina Conceptions that make them stand above the rest.
SL, Kinghtdale, NC
Carolina Conceptions is wonderful. The staff are very professional, caring and compassionate. I have been to another fertility clinic and hands down I would recommend Carolina Conceptions (I actually have recommended them and two friends are pregnant right now!) Fertility is VERY stressful, financially and emotionally. I found that with the help of caring doctors and staff it reduces the stress level. I can email a nurse or doctor and almost always get a response within 30-45 minutes. Because of Carolina Conceptions I have the most amazing little boy and I am heading back to try again soon….. I can’t wait! THANKS Carolina Conceptions for all you do!
GG, Raleigh, NC
After 14 months of going to Carolina Conceptions and Dr. Park, they have released me. I graduated! It is bitter sweet. This office is full of the kindest and most caring people I have ever met. They have seen me at my worst and most recently at my best. I got hugs from nurses, doctors and front desk staff; it truly took a village but I am now 9 weeks pregnant thanks to Carolina Conceptions. Dr. Park was amazing through it all. He took my medical and emotional state into account as we worked toward a successful treatment plan. I am convinced he is why I had success. I highly recommend Dr. Park and Carolina Conceptions!
GJ, Raleigh, NC
After years of unsuccessfully TTC, I found Carolina Conceptions. I was a patient of an RE in Charlotte and was not happy with the impersonal approach and “time is of the essence” pressure to agree to what felt like a “one size fits all” treatment. The physicians and staff at Carolina Conceptions are different. Dr. Park took the time to listen to me, understand my concerns, and dig deeper than my other doctors. I’m now 22 weeks pregnant with our first baby. We would not have this blessing without the talented, caring, expert physicians and staff at Carolina Conceptions! It was well worth traveling from Charlotte! At CC you are a member of the patient family, not a file number. I can’t thank them and recommend them enough.
JJ, Charlotte, NC
Carolina Conceptions is THE BEST! Dr. Park, Tammy, and all of the staff were phenomenal with us from start to finish!!! I promise you will never get care this good at any other office… period! We went the IVF route and got pregnant with twins the first time. All of the staff returns calls and emails promptly and show they care about you. I felt as if I were their only patient every time I spoke with them! I could go on and on for days about CC!
AS, Fremont, NC
Carolina Conceptions was highly recommended to me by others, and I have to say that everything I heard about them was true! The doctors and staff are true professionals – they are always friendly, informative, and honest. For anyone dealing with obstacles in trying to conceive, this is the place to go!
MW, Benson, NC
I’m not able to put down in words the amount of gratitude we have for the doctors, nurses and staff at Carolina Conceptions. This thing called infertility has been a long and trying road for us and from the very beginning Dr. Couchman made us feel like we would come out in the end victorious…and we did. I have never felt so welcome in a medical establishment before and after our IVF cycle was successful and we were handed off to my regular obgyn, I found myself longing to be back at their office. From the first day we walked through the doors to the day I brought in pictures of our two perfect little boys I felt important and confident that our dreams would come true. I can’t thank Drs. Couchman, Meyer and Park enough for the gifts they have given us. I look forward to coming back for our next little miracle and hope whoever reads this chooses Carolina Conceptions as well.
M & J, Raleigh, NC
I just want to thank all the doctors and staff at Carolina Conceptions for making our dreams into a reality. We tried unsuccessfully on our own for over 1 1/2 years for our first baby, and over a year on our own for our 2nd baby. Carolina Conceptions was such a pleasure to work with both times we needed help. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. They make each patient feel very special. I would definitely recommend Carolina Conceptions to anyone having infertility issues. We now have a beautiful almost 3 year old little girl, with another little girl due next month through IVF. Thank you again to all, and especially Dr. Park!!
K & T, Raleigh, NC
Dr. Couchman, we just wanted to let you know about the birth of our very healthy baby girl. Our other daughter is very excited to be a big sister! We are very grateful to you and the other doctors at Carolina Conceptions for all of your work and support through the years to help us have a family. It was a difficult journey but the rewards of two beautiful girls are well worth the roller coaster ride. I am happy to say we are done with trying to have more children and are going to enjoy these two beautiful girls. Of course we will continue to share our story with people we know and recommend Carolina Conceptions. Thank you so much for everything!

I just wanted to introduce the tiny little miracle that you and the Carolina Conceptions team helped create our son. He was born on February 18th at 6:08 PM weighing 6lbs 8oz. and 19.5 inches long. We just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts as he would not have been possible without the amazing staff and cutting edge IVF technology available through your practice. You are truly miracle workers! Thank you again.

My husband and I were referred to Carolina Conceptions by a friend. We had already been receiving fertility treatments from another organization for a year prior but were unsuccessful. We decided to switch to Carolina Conceptions which turned out to be the best decision we could have made. We saw Dir., Park exclusively throughout our treatment process. He was very positive and never told us that we could not have children. We tried every option possible before moving to IVF in April 2013. Dr. Park never made us feel like we had to jump right into IVF; he wanted to give us a chance to explore other options first. The whole staff at Carolina Conceptions was always very helpful and considerate to our questions and concerns. After almost a year of trying we started IVF and it was a lot easier than I could have ever imagined. Mainly because everything was so detailed and we could follow the plan so easily. During our IVF process we actually saw the other doctors for the first time but they were fantastic as well. We were very fortunate that we were successful with our first attempt. We had our sweet baby girl Jan 9th. She is perfect and we could not be happier with the whole experience at Carolina Conceptions. I recommend you to everyone I know that has fertility issues and will continue to do so. We will definitely be back.

Honestly, I cannot remember when the process began for us, but I can say that it was the most pleasant blur of my entire life. We had been trying to get pregnant for about a year only to find out that we were going to need some help. Help we found! I don’t think that either of us would have expected the process to be so smooth and/or quick. Everybody that we had contact with was just the best! We had success our first time around and my wife is now just a couple of days away from going into her 2nd trimester. It’s just surreal! We are so happy! The only moments when either of us were upset was when we realized that we would have to go to another team to actually bring this kid into the world. We insist that they find a way to take us to the end of the experience. I, personally, would like to see if they could take us right up until we send off the first college application. Thank you to each and every one of you for helping us to realize our dreams!

My husband and I have been trying to have children for years now. My doctors have all pretty much told us that IUI would be a waste of time given that I had PCOS and other fertility issues and my husband had abnormal and low sperm count. We were told that going straight to IVF would be our best bet and that even that wouldn’t be great statistically. After many years and help from family, we were able to fulfill our IVF dream. Carolina Conceptions came highly recommended from a friend who had used them before and from my gynecologist. When we first went in for a consult with Dr. Meyer, they didn’t have us down for an appointment! We were so nervous and had waited for over a month to consult. The front desk staff (Keesha, Steven, and Heather… super awesome people!) was able to squeeze us in somehow and we were so thankful! Once we met with Dr. Meyer and answered questions he had about our history, we became more excited! He seemed to really believe that IVF would work for us. He suggested the ONE plan (which is a great deal) and we went to financial to get things started. Kelly in financial took us step by step through each charge (which was full of medical words, but Dr. Meyer had already explained all of the meanings) and gave us roughly how much we would be spending for everything, including medications. She also notated the items that our insurance might pay (since they didn’t cover the procedure at all). We were beyond excited to go home and discuss our options!
After deciding to do the ONE Plan (Highly recommend it, so ask about it!), we signed up to sit one on one with a nurse who showed us how to administer all of the fertility medicines. Her name was Elisa and she did a fantastic job explaining things and writing down important dates we would need. We finally had things rolling! But then Dr. Couchman did an ultrasound to check my uterus and ovaries and found that I had a mass at the top of my uterus. She explained that surgery would need to be done to try and remove it before proceeding. It worried my husband and I but Dr. Couchman was confident it was fibroids and that once we had it removed, it would be smooth sailing. She did the surgery within a few days and we were able to start fertility meds about a month afterwards.
All through the medicine period, we were full of questions. And most of them were stupid questions and us messing stuff up and the nurses fixing our mess ups. We were too nervous/excited I guess to get things right. My personal saving grace was Terry. She answered every email right away. No matter how stupid. And if I couldn’t reach Terry, Elisa and Tammy were always able to swoop in to answer! Lab tests came in SUPER fast. I always had results within a few hours. Kentrice was usually the one who took my blood and had the best personality. She really seemed to enjoy her work! Tiffany set me up for most of my ultrasounds and was always polite and helpful.
After many ultrasounds, it came to be that I had not made enough eggs to start the IVF. Dr. Park informed me that I had several options. I could do the IVF but my chances would be low success due to the number of eggs I made. If it took, great, if not, we could start over. But he suggested that my best option was to do IUI, which would have a higher success rate than doing the IVF with so few eggs. And, if it wasn’t successful, we still had credit towards starting the IVF process again because the IUI was much cheaper and less intrusive. And, my husband’s last specimen was enough to work, according to Dr. Park. Naturally we panicked. We had been told IUI was a waste of time by our doctors in the past. But we discussed it and decided it WAS the best option so as to not waste the meds already taken.
The day after Thanksgiving we did IUI. My husband was very proud of his sperm count AFTER the washing… it was higher than we had ever seen it. Tammy offered to let him inject the sperm but he refused, scared to mess things up. It was simple and quick. In about 2 weeks, I would test to see if I was pregnant at home if I hadn’t received a period.
I tested 2 weeks later and there was a line! A super faint line, but a line none the less! The office did blood work two separate times to make sure the HCG was increasing, and it was! I was then scheduled an ultrasound for December 30… and got to see our little blob and a fluttering heartbeat! And couple weeks later, we got to see our blob had more than doubled in size and the heart still fluttering! It was amazing!
I will be 9 weeks pregnant Friday… due August 22, give or take a day or two. While I am aware I am still in my first trimester and that this is the trimester that bad things can happen in, I am just so happy and filled with hope. I never really had that hope before! It can be done! It worked for me! We didn’t even have to use the IVF! I know that this is a long review. It’s really our story more than a review… but our story gets to continue because of all of the wonderful people at Carolina Conceptions! Dr. Meyer could have turned us away when our appointment wasn’t in the system. Dr. Couchman could have ignored the mass and waited to see what would happen with the IVF. Dr. Park could have told us to just give it up and start a new IVF cycle. But they didn’t. They are there to make families. They WANT to succeed. And their staff does too! Everyone was friendly, ALWAYS. It is an emotional time and they KNOW that. I would recommend Carolina Conceptions to ANYONE that is struggling to start a family. Even just checking out the website educates you immensely. Watch the videos. Call and talk to them. Go and meet them. I really think you will be glad you did.

My husband and I first came to Carolina Conceptions in May 2012, at the advice of 2 friends who had received great experiences. Infertility is a touchy subject, and I was nervous about seeing a specialist. We had been trying for baby for around 2 years and had no success, not even 1 positive pregnancy test.
We read the profiles and qualifications of the physicians at CC on the website and ended up meeting with Dr. Grace Couchman, who consulted with us for over an hour. She reviewed all of our past medical histories and interviewed us about conception attempts. At the end of the visit, she offered us multiple options to become pregnant and advised us on what would work best for our situation. We spent the next few weeks having many tests run to determine the cause of our infertility, which turned out to be with me- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). My ovaries had plenty of eggs, but I was not ovulating and didn’t know about this because I was on birth control pills for over 12 years. I was advised by Dr. Couchman to stop eating all sugar while going through treatment, as this would help my chances with conceiving. I tried oral medications to start ovulation, but did not have any success. The next step of the plan was to try a combination of oral and injectable medications. I was worried about this, but felt confident that these specialists knew what they were doing. The plan was for us to try timed intercourse after using an injectable medication to start ovulation. However, we did not become pregnant and decided to take the next month off of the medications. I was disappointed but knew this would take some time. I came back the next month after and learned that I had an ovarian cyst and could not go through treatment as it would be harmful to my health. I was going to have to wait another month and was upset because my health insurance was going to run out at the end of the year and I wouldn’t be able to continue treatments. The billing/financial staff at CC is great. They sat down with me and my nurse and we figured out another plan before my insurance expired. I was able to complete another round of injectable medications and this time we decided to use the IUI method. Of course, the day of the IUI fell on Labor Day Holiday, however, Dr. Park and the staff at CC were open for me to come in and have this procedure done. I was so grateful as that was my last chance to conceive with help from them. 2 weeks later, I had my first positive pregnancy test!
I followed the physicians’ directions exactly as they had recommended over the next few weeks. I was then released to my OBGYN to take over care. The pregnancy was completely normal and uneventful. My daughter’s due date was the exact day 1 year later that I first met with Dr. Couchman. I am so thankful to these doctors and their staff for making our dreams come true. They truly changed my life forever, and words ultimately cannot describe everything that they have given our family. They are remarkable and I highly recommend them.

Professional group of doctors, very friendly. Their recommendations were really clear and precise. If I need to consult again I would definitely come back.

Carolina Conceptions helped make our dream of having a family come true.
Their staff was very welcoming and encouraging to us whenever we had almost run out of hope. Carolina Conceptions was always a phone call away if we had questions and we always felt we had support. Thank you so much for giving us our precious little boy.

We finally hit our Baby Jackpot with the help of Carolina Conceptions! I’m sitting here typing up my testimonial with one of my beautiful 5 week old twin baby girls snuggled on my chest. Which would not have been possible without the wonderful Dr’s and Staff of Carolina Conceptions!! We had a long journey of infertility after the birth of our son in 2004. I had many procedures with a great local Dr with no luck. It was discovered we were also dealing with male factor infertility as well as my issues. While we knew we were blessed with our wonderful son, many tears were shed over the fact that I couldn’t give him the sibling he really wanted. When we were informed that we had reached the end of the treatment that Dr could do, he recommended IVF and Carolina Conceptions. In 2011, on my birthday, Dr Couchman actually came to my Drs office to do consults and we met for the first time. I was excited with this chance and couldn’t wait to begin. My husband and I soon drove to the practice and began our first IVF cycle, The staff there was great and answered all my questions. Sadly, the first IVF ended in me not responding very well and it was cancelled. Dr Couchman called me herself to tell me the news. I was crushed. We took a break and in the summer of 2012 we decided to try again before I turned 40 (I was 38) and we lost our infertility coverage. Dr Couchman was confident about stepping up the meds and the whole procedure was perfectly timed around a week that I had off in the fall She did my retrieval and Dr Park did the transfer. It was all perfect down to the beta and first u/s announcing 2 little flickers. And on July 2nd at 37 weeks our perfect little girls arrived; beautiful and healthy!! Our family is whole now and we owe it all to Carolina Conceptions!!! Without their help, our dreams would not have come true. I would recommend them to anyone dealing with infertility! Never lose hope; it can happen for you as well!!

Carolina Conceptions has made my biggest dream come true. Thanks to them, I am currently pregnant with my first child!!! They are the best doctors office I have EVER stepped foot in. Everyone is very pleasant and high spirited! All questions and concerns were answered without delay. They make you comfortable and they really care. They truly impressed me when I had almost given up hope. Thank you Carolina Conceptions for making our dream a reality. I would recommend you to everyone.

We were patients of Dr. Meyer and would recommend Carolina Conceptions. Dr. Meyer completed a surgery in March 2012 and we became pregnant on our own in October 2012. Our experience at Carolina Conceptions was the best medical treatment we have ever experienced. The doctors, nurses, and office staff were attentive and caring. We were treated as individuals and never felt pressured to complete any procedures. They worked with us medically, financially, and personally.

I don’t know that there are words to describe how my husband and I feel about our experience at Carolina Conceptions. After several failed IUIs and a couple of failed IVF cycles at another clinic, we transferred care feeling like we were running out of hope. Thankfully, Dr. Park was able to create a unique protocol tailored to my needs, and we are now patiently awaiting the arrival of our baby girl in October.
The thing about Carolina Conceptions is that it really is a place of hope. The waiting room isn’t filled with the sense of dread that you find at other clinics. Not only are the physicians extremely skilled at their craft, but everyone from the front desk staff, to the financial counselors, to the nurses, CNAs, and embryologists are rooting for you. They aren’t just invested in your success as a number to make their stats better, they really want success for you. There is such a sense of teamwork and community in the office and you receive nothing but the most compassionate care. We count not be more grateful to everyone at Carolina Conceptions for helping us build a family.

My husband and I have been battling infertility for eight years. In 2007 we were referred to Carolina Conceptions by my OB/GYN. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility so Dr. Couchman suggested we try IUI. We did our first round of IUI and found out that we were pregnant. It ended in what most would call a chemical pregnancy, but either way, it was still devastating. We decided to take some time off and in 2008 we tried IUI again. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. Physically we were worn out, so we took two years off from trying. In 2010, we decided to do one more IUI and we thought that it had failed again. One day I woke up in horrible pain and had my husband take me to the ER. We found out we were pregnant with twins but one was in my left tube and one was in my right tube. They both had heartbeats but my tubes were about to rupture so they had to go in and do emergency surgery. They took out both my tubes so the only way we could get pregnant now was through IVF. We did our egg retrieval in 2011 and they retrieved 5 eggs; 4 where mature and 2 fertilized. The day of transfer came and everything went great. The hardest part was the two week wait. After two weeks, we found out we were PREGNANT!!!!!!!!! We were so excited. The ultrasound day finally came and we saw one tiny beam with the flicker of the heartbeat; that was one of the best days of our lives. We are currently 10 wks pregnant and last week we had our first OB appointment and were able to hear the heartbeat.
Without Dr. Couchman, Dr. Meyer and Dr. Park this wouldn’t be possible. We are so grateful for everything they have done for us to make our dream of becoming parents come true. All of the staff at Carolina Conceptions was rooting for us and its feels good when they were just as happy for you as you are for yourself. Thank you again for everything. I tell anyone who is dealing with infertility to go to Carolina Conceptions, because they were our blessing in disguise. We are now going to be parents for the first time. We enjoyed our journey, and you never know, maybe we will do it again one day. Thank you again.

We had a wonderful experience at Carolina Conceptions (CC) and are expecting our first baby in January! Having transferred from another fertility clinic that we were not pleased with…we were not sure what to expect. From Day 1…we had nothing but positive experiences at Carolina Conceptions. From the friendly front desk staff (that greets you when you walk in and remember you by name at each visit), the doctors (of which we saw all 3 at some point in our journey and all were great), the MAs (who always made us feel comfortable when it is certainly not the most comfortable situation), and the ultrasound techs (who took the time to show and explain to us exactly what we were looking at) we have nothing but the best of things to say about CC.
You begin to feel like the employees are family/friends rather than just employees at your doctors office. They are all a huge part of the process. They are happy for you and celebrate with you when there is good news and they will cry with and support you when there is not so good news. There really are not enough words to describe how positive our experience was at CC.
Carolina Conceptions also offers a discount for Service Workers. My husband is a firefighter so therefore we qualified. Our insurance does not cover fertility treatment so all expenses were out of pocket. This discount for service workers made it possible for us to be able to do IVF which is finally how we conceived the little miracle that we are expecting.

After going off of birth control it was determined after medication and blood work that I was not ovulating, so I was sent to Carolina Conceptions. I felt comfortable from the first visit with Dr. Park. We discussed all of our options and started with step one, medications. After many trials and ultrasounds we determined that the medicine was not an option anymore, so we went onto injections. We were trained on how to inject, etc… The injections turned out not to be successful as well. Through this whole process I never gave up, I knew I would eventually be able to get pregnant. We just had to figure out what my body needed. Our final option was to do surgery and then it worked!!!!!!!! The first month of trying to get pregnant after I was healed from the surgery, I got pregnant!!!!!! My husband and I have a wonderful son who is now almost a year old!!! I would highly recommend any doctor from Carolina Conceptions. Thank you for making our dreams come true!!!

Carolina Conceptions operates at a level which all medical practices should strive to emulate. I truly can’t say enough nice things about them. From the front desk staff, the lab staff, the nurses and the doctors everyone is warm and welcoming. I can honestly say we’ve never had a bad experience. Thanks to Carolina Conceptions we now have a darling 1 year old and we are pregnant with our second child. In both instances we had a successful pregnancy on the first attempt. We can thank the expertise of Carolina Conceptions. We are so incredibly grateful to them for our growing family.

As I played with our 2-year-old twins today, my thoughts turned to the year we spent with Carolina Conceptions, never knowing that the blessing we received from them would be twofold. Dr. Park and his staff were so kind and supportive, we never even considered giving up. Although I was 41 (within 3 weeks of 42) when they were born, we were never discouraged from trying to make our dream a reality. Somehow, the doctors and staff at CC have learned to walk the fine line between giving false hope and crushing dreams without ever venturing into either territory, Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Carolina Conceptions for our daughter, our son, our miracles.

All three of the doctors and nurses were so approachable and easy to talk to about whatever I needed or wanted to ask. I just wanted to say thank you and your office staff for helping me and my family be able to have our daughter in our lives. It took us 11 long months at Carolina Conceptions, but when I look at that beautiful baby, I know it was all worth it. Your staff is so friendly and inviting, even when I was having an off day and just down in my dumps about trying to conceive, they were always so nice and warm. All three of the doctors and nurses were so approachable and easy to talk to about whatever I needed or wanted to ask. My husband also agrees that it was very easy to go into your office and we felt like it was going to happen, even on the dark days. My family and I will always be in debt to you and appreciate you ALL for giving us the opportunity to spend wonderful moments with our beautiful girl. Thanks so much.

I have been going to Carolina Conceptions for about a year now and I am happy to say that, last week, I graduated. Through 4 unsuccessful IUIs and a successful IVF (with just 1 embryo by choice, I might add), Dr. Meyer, Dr. Park, and all of the nurses and staff have been so patient and caring. I am so thankful for this practice and all of them. I would recommend their services to anyone.

I cannot stop talking about this practice to my friends and family. They truly know what HOPE really means. We are so grateful to the doctors and staff at Carolina Conceptions for giving us a miracle we never thought would happen; (a baby boy!) Everyone at that office was so nice and very understanding of what my husband and I were going through. We began working with Dr. Meyer in mid-January and after three rounds of injectables, we didn’t seem so lucky. We could not afford to do IVF, so we were then thinking of other options elsewhere. When Dr. Meyer found out I was willing to get a 2nd opinion, he assured me that they were willing to do what it took to get us pregnant. He wanted us to look into doing IVF. I let him know that was something we just could not afford. He advised me if we went through with it he will try his very best to at least help us with the medications. Well my husband and I considered it and decided to give it one last try. We applied for a loan that Carolina Conceptions referred us to and got approved. We could only afford 1 fresh cycle, which basically meant one try and that’s it. I was so nervous to go through with it all, Dr. Meyer and staff made me feel so comfortable. Anytime I had questions they all were always available, by phone or via email.
After the whole IVF process, it was a HUGE success!!!! I will never forget the day Kim called me to tell me I was pregnant!!!! I started crying on the phone and she started crying too! Happiest day of our lives!!
I am so grateful for the patience and care of each and every provider I saw at the clinic from the doctors to the nurses, lab technicians and front desk staff. They all were completely dedicated to making sure you got what you came for a baby! I cannot stop talking about this practice to my friends and family. They truly know what HOPE really means. Thank you so much Carolina Conceptions!! We just introduced our baby boy to the world on Dec 21 2012

We are looking forward to our upcoming IVF cycle and being at a healthy weight for our treatment. We met with Dr. Meyer to talk about fertility treatment options and we were told that my weight could be contributing to my infertility. He referred me to the Pure Proactive Program. I started phase 1 of the program and to date I have lost a total of 18 pounds! I am now on phase 2 of the program and hope to be at the goal weight we discussed by the end of February. I would like to thank Dr. Meyer for providing me the information for this program. I’m so pleased with the results and I have learned so much about organic foods and healthy cooking! We are looking forward to our upcoming IVF cycle and being at a healthy weight for our treatment.

We are so happy and excited for what the future holds for us and our new addition! Thank you so much! We wanted to say thank you so much , Dr. Park, for everything you’ve done for us this past year. We went into this completely unaware of anything and you and your staff were very patient and understanding with us and our many questions, emails and phone calls. We are sincerely grateful and appreciative of how you and your staff change people’s lives on a daily basis. We are so happy and excited for what the future holds for us and our new addition! Thank you so much!

It’s even better that we can look at the website and see the 3 main doctors are the ones that we worked with directly during the different stages of procedure. I wanted to say that we had an excellent experience with everyone at Carolina Conceptions. We now have a wonderful 6 month old daughter and she is so beautiful and precious. Everything from flexible appointment scheduling (to avoid the awkward employer conversation) to the financing, it was really great. It’s even better that we can look at the website and see the 3 main doctors are the ones that we worked with directly during the different stages of procedure. You are awesome, and we’ll be back soon!

It was a long and emotional road but everyone at Carolina Conceptions was so understanding and helpful. They treated us like family and we will never forget what they have done for us. My husband and I are pleased to announce the long awaited birth of our daughter. We always knew we wanted to be parents so hearing that we would not be able to conceive naturally was very hard on us. We were directed to Carolina Conceptions and were lucky enough to have success with our first IVF treatment! We are so lucky and we appreciate Carolina Conceptions every day. Especially now, our heart and home is filled with baby giggles and squeals. It was a long and emotional road but everyone at Carolina Conceptions was so understanding and helpful. They treated us like family and we will never forget what they have done for us. We will look forward to visiting them again when we attempt to give our daughter a sibling!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You have given us our family and we couldn’t ask for anything better!

Fertility unfortunately is not a guarantee for anyone, but there is no office I would rather be at for either outcome due to the experience I had at Carolina Conceptions. They will do everything they can to get you pregnant. I can’t express the amount of gratitude I have for Carolina Conceptions doctors, nurses, and receptionists. This facility is top notch.
My husband and I went there when first starting to try for kids. I had a hunch I would have issues so someone recommended this office to us (my girlfriend also has had two successful pregnancies from this office). We live a couple hours away but thought we should at least get a consult and have some tests run. I was diagnosed with PCOS and Dr. Park said some fertility medicine should do the trick. Fertility is a commitment and requires a lot of visits, but we really liked the office and decided to give it a try even with the long commute.
I am glad we did. I have never seen an office run so smoothly. The thing I loved is they had early 7:30 am appointments. I never waited in the waiting room and, for the most part, could be in and out in 15 minutes. This was important to me because I could be back to work by 10:00 am. I was always able to see a doctor for my ultrasounds and they were always available for questions during this new emotional process. They also were accessible via email if I had questions I forgot to ask. I did see every doctor at Carolina Conceptions and each one is super easy to talk to and had no reservations with any of them.
With our first treatment we were fortunate that the medicine worked the first time. We were so excited. We were blessed with a sweet baby girl in 2010.
When we started trying for our second child I thought I would just use my regular OB and have them copy the same medicine and treatment I used with Carolina Conceptions. I went through three rounds and one miscarriage, and the treatment was just not the same. They wouldn’t follow the same protocol because they wanted to do things a certain way because that is how they practiced. They were more conservative in practice while Carolina Conceptions main goal is to get you pregnant, so that could mean changing things up a little bit if they saw things weren’t working. Even though this office was more local, I always had to wait so I still got back to work at 10:00 am. So finally I got fed up and started making my trips back to Carolina Conceptions. We tried 3 more rounds of fertility meds, one IUI, and finally bit the bullet and did IVF after a long conversation with Dr Park. The IVF was a success and we welcomed our sweet baby boy in 2012!
I know fertility assistance is very emotional and even more so for women who have been trying for years. Fertility unfortunately is not a guarantee for anyone, but there is no office I would rather be at for either outcome due to the experience I had at Carolina Conceptions. They will do everything they can to get you pregnant.
Fertility is a hard process and we just don’t think we are up for it again especially being so lucky to have two healthy kids. However, it has been hard leaving Carolina Conceptions to go back my regular OB office.
Thanks again to all the staff for your constant patience and commitment assisting us on our journey to this new and exciting life.

We began working with Dr. Couchman in mid-January and after two rounds of oral medication and two rounds of injectibles, we were pregnant! “We are so grateful to the doctors and staff at Carolina Conceptions for giving us a miracle I never thought would happen. The care and close attention to your needs is unmatched. We began working with Dr. Couchman in mid-January and after two rounds of oral medication and two rounds of injectibles, we were pregnant! I was told I had a low AMH and feared that our options were limited. I had been going to another fertility practice and the physician told me that if I didn’t get pregnant after 1-2 rounds of oral medication, that I should strongly consider IVF since my time was running out. Not one of the doctors at Carolina Conceptions seemed to think that my low egg count would be a barrier to our success. It gave me hope!
I was a particularly nervous patient after years of assuming we would never be able to conceive, but the doctors and nurses were always available to answer questions – always! It really put me at ease, which I truly believe helped with the success of treatment. I am so grateful for the patience and care of each and every provider I saw at the clinic – from the doctors to the nurses to the lab technicians. They all were completely dedicated to making sure you got what you came for – a baby! If we find ourselves in a similar situation when we are ready to try and conceive our second child, I know where we will be going! Thanks for everything!!”

I cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Meyer and the entire staff at Carolina Conceptions. The experience I had at Carolina Conceptions made one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through bearable. “I cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Meyer and the entire staff at Carolina Conceptions. I was referred to Dr. Meyer after 3 failed rounds of oral medicine. I was able to get in in such a short amount of time. Dr. Meyer was so warm and welcoming and answered my litany of questions patiently and thoroughly. He immediately scheduled me for more in depth testing, including getting my husband tested. By doing that, we discovered my husband had no sperm in his SA. We were able to catch it quickly, which saved us so much time and heartache. Dr. Meyer referred us to Dr. Shaban who was able to fix my husband’s issue and get us back on the road to conception.
After only 3 rounds of injections, one of those paired with IUI, we were able to get pregnant. Dr. Meyer was both cautious and aggressive in my care. He knew what my body could handle and didn’t want to push it. The monitoring was so thorough, I never felt like I was slipping through the cracks.
The entire staff is amazing. They never make you feel like just another patient. The front desk girls were always so warm and kind. And, on our “graduation day”, they were so happy and supportive of us. The lab techs were always so gentle with the blood draws and very prompt with the results. They know what agony waiting is for their patients. I was able to work with Dr. Couchman a few times and she was always so kind.
I would like to take a minute to give a special thank you to Kim Briley. Kim was so amazing, I’m not sure I could have made it through our treatments without her. She was always available by email to answer any question I had, no matter how small or seemingly ridiculous. She is warm and encouraging and funny. It was almost like emailing with a friend who happened to be a nurse. She was truly invaluable to this experience.
I appreciate how available everyone at Carolina Conceptions is. They are wonderful about responding to phone calls, and were always available by email. The experience I had at Carolina Conceptions made one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through bearable. I’ll always be forever grateful.

After much research, we decided to meet with Dr. Park. Any reservations we had about leaving our old clinic completely evaporated after meeting him and the staff at Carolina Conceptions.“My husband and I have journeyed with infertility for eight years. We are thankful to say that Carolina Conceptions has helped us end this journey, at last!
We began in 2004 with testing to determine why we had been unable to conceive on our own. We were diagnosed with male factor infertility and began looking at IVF clinics in the area. At the time, we lived in Durham and so we evaluated all the surrounding clinics and chose one. We underwent two unsuccessful cycles before finally conceiving our beautiful daughter, who was born in 2008.
We realized through our cycles, that I wasn’t responding well to several of the stimulation drugs. In general, I only produced 6-8 eggs per cycle which was roughly half of what they expected for a woman my age (33 yo). At that time we had several discussions with our fertility doctor about switching protocols or doing things differently, but they felt we could simply keep the same protocol and increase the dosage of some of our medicines. Ultimately, when we had our daughter we were content for several years.
Then, we began to long for another child. A sibling for our daughter, another unbelievable source of joy for us. We again returned to our old clinic. We failed a frozen embryo transfer and then miserably failed a fresh cycle. In fact this time, I had 6 large follicles going into retrieval only to end up with none at the end of the procedure. They guessed that I had something called empty follicle syndrome – a heartbreak that we do not wish upon anyone. After discussing with our doctor what we could do differently, we sadly realized that they planned to do nothing differently. At that point, we knew we had to look at another clinic. Surprisingly, this was a very difficult decision for us. After all, our old clinic had changed our lives by helping us have our daughter!
After much research, we decided to meet with Dr. Park. Any reservations we had about leaving our old clinic completely evaporated after meeting him and the staff at Carolina Conceptions. He was very well versed in the roadblocks we had encountered along the way and even had experience with couples with empty follicle syndrome. Leaving our consultation, we felt that something new and different, something cutting edge, would be tried. At 36 years old with five infertility cycles under our belt, we knew, really KNEW, this was our last attempt. We decided to put our hearts on the line and cycle again.
From the beginning, everything was different about this cycle. To begin with, we now live in Wilmington so all our monitoring was done remotely. We worried that the communication would suffer because of the distance, but that was not the case. Carolina Conceptions is very organized and stays in constant contact with you about the next step, labs etc. The nurses are incredibly friendly and kind and genuinely seem to care about you. Whenever we called, someone got back to us within one day – a BIG change from our old clinic. Dr. Park was amazing and answered all our emails right away.
At the end of our cycle, even with the new and definitely improved protocol, I only had 3 mature follicles. With her unbelievable skill, Dr. Couchman was able to retrieve all three for us. All three were mature, all three fertilized and all three made it to the blast stage. We have NEVER in all our cycles had that happen. We absolutely credit that to the protocol that maximized the quality of my eggs – and a little divine luck. We decided to put all three back and feel like the luckiest people in the world to be 14 weeks pregnant now! We know in our hearts we would not be here without the expertise and care of Carolina Conceptions – they made our dream of completing our family come true!”

It is a total team effort in delivering excellent patient care at Carolina Conceptions and I think the positive environment contributed to our success. “Carolina Conceptions is not just the best fertility clinic in all of North Carolina, but it is the best medical practice I have ever experienced. After 2 years of failed fertility treatments and a failed IVF cycle at another clinic, we came to Carolina Conceptions with hopes to make our dreams come true. It was a very long road filled with much disappointment and heartbreaking news. In March of 2012, we met with Dr. Park to explain our whole journey and he listened to everything—all our concerns and fears. He was so patient and kind to us and helped confirm our decision to use donor eggs to start our family. He explained the program and put us in contact with Michele, the donor coordinator. Michele is absolutely the best—she is everything someone who has been through fertility treatments without success needs. She is kind, caring, compassionate and just goes above and beyond for her patients. She held our hand through the entire process from helping us make the best decision on a donor to just being there for me through my anxiety and fear. We were just blown away by the outstanding communication and attention to detail Michele provides her patients. Not only were Dr. Park and Michele wonderful, it was just a different experience from the moment we walked in. The team at the front desk was beyond kind and so welcoming, the financial team was easy to work with and helped us with options for financial support. Amanda, the embryologist is wonderful and went above and beyond communicating with us while we were waiting fertilization results. It is a total team effort in delivering excellent patient care at Carolina Conceptions and I think the positive environment contributed to our success. It was the best day of our lives when we got the call from Dr. Park with our positive test results and then again each time we had an ultrasound and got to see the heartbeat. A dream come true that I believe could have only been achieved at Carolina Conceptions. ”

My husband and I came to Carolina Conceptions hoping they could help us become pregnant through a gestational carrier. Although our case was somewhat unique in a fertility office, CC was equipped with a protocol already in place. “Carolina Conceptions and Dr. Grace Couchman specifically is an extremely positive, capable, and sensitive practice and physician. My husband and I came to CC hoping they could help us become pregnant through a gestational carrier. Although our case was somewhat unique in a fertility office, CC was equipped with a protocol already in place. Although the process for a ‘fresh’ transfer of embryos into a gestational carrier takes very deliberate planning and monitoring, they made the process feel simple and straight forward. Our carrier, her spouse, my husband and I were all treated as a whole, all committed to the same special goal. We were extremely impressed with the accessibility to Dr. Couchman. She is the only physician I know who gives out her direct email… and responds very promptly to any and all questions and concerns. We are very happy to announce the arrival of our healthy baby boy, William just a mere 36 weeks after our transfer. It was an amazing process to watch our son grow from a microscopic embryo to a 8lb 22″ long baby and we couldn’t have ask for a better practice to make this miracle possible. We are forever indebted.”

After years of trying to conceive and being diagnosed with unexplained amenorrhea and anovulation, I was referred to Carolina Conceptions by my OB/GYN (who was not hopeful that we’d be able to conceive). “After years of trying to conceive and being diagnosed with unexplained amenorrhea and anovulation, I was referred to Carolina Conceptions by my OB/GYN (who was not hopeful that we’d be able to conceive) . My husband and I were on the verge of giving up, but decided to go ahead and schedule an appointment for a consultation. We met with Dr. Meyer and immediately felt that we were meant to be there. Dr. Meyer had studied my medical records prior to our first visit was very reassuring and spent lots of time answering our questions. We decided on a treatment plan and started immediately. Our first attempt did not produce very promising results. Throughout that process we also had the pleasure of working with Dr. Park and Dr. Couchman. My husband and I decided to keep trying because of the positive attitude and encouragement we received from all three doctors in the practice. Our second attempt went much better, but apparently didn’t result in a pregnancy. My husband and I decided that we’d try one more time. We had to wait for some cysts on my ovaries to resolve prior to beginning the process. Upon going in to check on the cysts we discovered that we were PREGNANT!!! We are now the proud parents of a happy, healthy 6 month old and could not be happier! Parenthood has been the best thing that has ever happened to us and if we hadn’t gone in for that first consultation with Dr. Meyer we’d never know the amazing joy and love we know today.”

Infertility is a very emotional journey, but everyone at Carolina Conceptions made our personal journey feel less trying and overwhelming, and more relaxed and certain that we would one day conceive with their help. “After 3 years of trying to conceive, my husband and I were sent to see Dr. Park at Carolina Conceptions in July of 2011. After having a Laparoscopy he diagnosed and removed my endometriosis, which is what was believed to be causing the infertility. Each appointment after that I got to see the other doctors as well and they were just as thorough, informative, and caring as Dr. Park. At no time did my husband and I feel like we were being rushed into any decision or like we were encouraged to jump straight into the more expensive options. It was always our choice and we were encouraged to move forward as we felt comfortable. We tried different options but finally ended up doing IVF in April of 2012 which resulted in our first pregnancy! We are currently 8 weeks pregnant and have graduated to an OB. I cannot say enough good things about the entire staff at Carolina Conceptions. Even the ladies at the front desk were always smiling and super nice. At every appointment I was taken right on back and never had to sit and wait for a long time. My husband and I felt like we were always supported, treated with respect and with the utmost care, not like we were just another patient. Even though we are thrilled to be seeing an OB, we will miss the doctors and staff at Carolina Conceptions. Infertility is a very emotional journey, but everyone at Carolina Conceptions made our personal journey feel less trying and overwhelming, and more relaxed and certain that we would one day conceive with their help. We are forever grateful to Dr. Park, Dr. Meyer, and all the staff at Carolina Conceptions.”

Anyone that has gone through fertility treatment knows how emotionally and physically taxing it can be—and I felt fully supported by Dr. Meyer and the staff at Carolina Conceptions. “I tried three years to get pregnant on my own before I sought the help from a specialist. I spent a year at another fertility clinic in the Triangle area, and after months of treatment they diagnosed me with unexplained infertility and told me IVF was my only option. I decided to try Dr. Meyer for a second opinion. I couldn’t be happier with that decision! After receiving a proper diagnosis, we created a game plan. After four and a half years of trying to conceive, I became pregnant with the first treatment—amazing. Our little boy is now 16 weeks old and we couldn’t be happier. Dr. Meyer is a miracle worker and the staff is terrific. They are super responsive and gave me 100% attention until my questions were answered. Anyone that has gone through fertility treatment knows how emotionally and physically taxing it can be—and I felt fully supported by Dr. Meyer and the staff at Carolina Conceptions.”
We also appreciated the fact that we were treated respectfully, the visit was not rushed, and we were not encouraged to spend a lot of money for procedures that would likely not be successful. “My husband and I wanted to thank Dr. Park for our consultation on Wednesday. We appreciate him sharing his knowledge and honest opinions with us so that we could make an informed decision. We also appreciated the fact that we were treated respectfully, the visit was not rushed, and we were not encouraged to spend a lot of money for procedures that would likely not be successful. We found him personally to be friendly, courteous and professional.
Again, we thank you for your time and assistance.”
It was a long and rocky road having gone through 3 IUIs, but it was all worth it. “Dr. Couchman and Dr. Park, We had such a wonderful experience with Carolina Conceptions and I truly appreciate your kindness and patience. It was a long and rocky road having gone through 3 IUIs, but it was all worth it.
Thanks to you, we welcomed a little girl into our family. She is absolutely perfect, and we are enjoying every minute with her.
Thank you for everything!! We may see you in the future for baby #2.”

All the staff at Carolina Conceptions have been rooting for us and its feels good when they are just as happy for you as you are for yourself. “My husband and I have been battling infertility for eight years. In 2007 we were referred to Carolina conceptions by my obgyn. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility so Dr. Couchman suggested we try iui so we did. Our first round of iui and we were pregnant but it ended in what most would call a chemical pregnancy either way it was still devastating. So we decided to take some time off because we had to pay for everything out of pocket. In 2008 we tried iui again and it failed and physically we were worn out so we took two years off from trying to get ourselves right.
In 2010, we decided to do one more iui (in January) and we thought that it had failed again. In February I woke up in horrible pain on the 23rd and had my husband take me to the ER where we found out we were pregnant (but also that we were pregnant with twins) but one was in my left tube and one in my right tube and they both had heartbeats but my tubes were about to rupture. So they had to go in and do emergency surgery and took both my tubes so the only way we could get pregnant now was through IVF which was going to be hard to come up with the money.
Now it’s 2011 and my husband’s parents gave us the money to do IVF and we were also approved for the compassionate care program which covered all my meds. July came and we did our egg retrieval and they got 5 eggs (4 were mature and 2 fertilized) but that was ok because we were going to put two in so they were eight celled and seven celled. The day of transfer came and everything went great. The hardest part was the two week wait and when it finally came we found out we were PREGNANT!!!!!!!!! This was great-we were so excited two day later, we went back to make sure numbers were doubling-they were. Then you wait again for your first ultrasound to find out how many you are having. The day finally came and we saw one tiny bean with the flicker of the heartbeat that was one of the best days of our lives. We had to go back in a week to make sure all was growing good and to be released to my obgyn. The next appointment came and still one baby strong heartbeat growing just right so we were released to our obgyn.
We are currently 10 wks pregnant and last week we had our first ob appointment and got to hear the heartbeat. Without Dr. Couchman, Dr. Meyer and Dr. Park this wouldn’t be possible. We are so grateful for everything they have done for us to make our dream of being parents come true. All the staff at Carolina Conceptions have been rooting for us and its feels good when they are just as happy for you as you are for yourself. Thank you again for everything-I already tell anyone who is dealing with infertility to go to Carolina Conceptions because they were our blessing in disguise. We are now going to be parents for the first time and we just want you all to know that we enjoyed our journey with y’all and you never know…maybe we will do it again one day. Thank you again.”
I don’t think the words ‘thank you’ begin to even express all our gratitude for CC’s help. “Dr. Couchman, just wanted you to know that we had a very healthy baby boy. He is just perfect! I don’t think the words ‘thank you’ begin to even express all our gratitude for CC’s help. Hope to see you again in the next few years for our frozen cycle.”
In the end I surpassed the amount of weight I had to lose for the procedure, and now a little over a year later, I just spent my first mothers day with my two beautiful twin boys. “Let me begin by saying how happy my husband and I were with Carolina Conceptions. The staff was always friendly and helpful and the doctors were understanding and caring.
When we first arrived at CC and it was determined that IVF was going to be our best chance at pregnancy, I was informed that I would need to lose about 40 lbs in order to undergo the transfer procedure. I have always been overweight (despite many diets over the years I had been unable to ever lose a significant amount) and hearing this from Dr. Couchman at first sounded like the door slamming shut on my dream to have a family. She encouraged me and offered some advice on how to go about the weight loss, but in the car outside the office I broke down in tears. Over the next few days I decided to try her advice (lots of exercise and following a low carb diet) and found that I was able to lose the weight more easily that I would have ever dreamed. It was still hard, however, I had a wonderful goal that I was working toward.
In the end I surpassed the amount of weight I had to lose for the procedure, and now a little over a year later, I just spent my first mothers day with my two beautiful twin boys.
Thank you Carolina Conceptions for making our dreams of a family come true!”

Dr. Park went above and beyond what was professionally required of him in order to help me and my husband to become pregnant. “After 15 years of not being able to conceive, my gynecologist referred me to Dr. Park. I was skeptical because no one had been able to help me and my husband so far. But after meeting with Dr. Park, we were willing to give it one more try. Dr. Park was kind, sincere, compassionate and approached infertility with such professionalism and determination that I felt completely comfortable with him and his suggestions.
Because of our situation, we elected IVF. The first cycle was canceled but we became pregnant on the second cycle. Dr. Park went above and beyond what was professionally required of him in order to help me and my husband to become pregnant.
We are forever grateful to the entire staff of Carolina Conceptions (all the doctors, nurses and admin staff are awesome) and especially to Dr. Park who made me feel comfortable and relaxed enough to trust him to do all that he knew how to do to help us get pregnant.
Our son is 2.5 months old; he was born in February after a 38 week, uneventful (problem-free) pregnancy.
Thanks again Carolina Conceptions and please continue making couples dreams of parenthood come true.”

I know you heard all the appreciation from her, but from the man side THANK YOU!! (Note to a Carolina Conceptions Staff Member) “First off I want to thank you for being my wife’s “safety blanket” through all of this…I can’t tell you how much you meant to her! We are the type of people who like to have personal comfort when experiencing big moments we know nothing about, and you were such a relaxing comfort through the whole process, which I am sure you knew from all of my wife’s talks with you. Because God knows I had no clue about what was happening and I hate being helpless like that. I sincerely believe this experience was much more enjoyable for us and I truly believe we grew closer in our relationship. I know you heard all the appreciation from her, but from the man side THANK YOU!!”
Our little girls were conceived as a direct result of embryo donation. My husband I consider it to be like traditional adoption, just nine months earlier. “Our journey to add to our family has not been easy but has become a reality through embryo donation/adoption. Despite IVF and even egg donation, we found ourselves still without little feet running through our home. We even lost our dearly loved, infant son due to genetic issues of which we had no awareness before his conception.
However, due to the kindness of people who we don’t even know, but who shared the same desire as us to be parents and walked a similar path of infertility, we are now expecting twins. Our little girls were conceived as a direct result of embryo donation. My husband I consider it to be like traditional adoption, just nine months earlier. We are so thankful to the donating family and recognize that they literally have made our dreams come true.
Any patient who has experienced the IVF process knows how precious those embryos are. I urge anyone who has completed their family and has remaining embryos to consider embryo donation/adoption. A donating family is giving the gift of life to those precious embryos and allowing another family to fulfill their dreams. There really has been no downside for us—just blessings.”

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be parents and giving us hope when he had none left. I thank God for you and for the whole staff at CC. “Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be parents and giving us hope when he had none left. I thank God for you and for the whole staff at CC. It is our prayer that God may continue to bless you all as you make a difference in a lot of peoples lives like you did ours.
I tell everyone about you and your office. I work at [a medical office], and I share our experince at your office with patients, and I have never hesitated to tell them how great you are. I give your office contacts to anyone that mentions to me about their fertility problems. In fact, I have two close friends that are under your care I recommended to you.
There is so much that I can say, but words cannot explain the utmost gratitude that we have to you and your staff. Thank you again and we will stop by later this spring so you can meet our little man. God Bless you!

We would travel across the country for CC but we are lucky to have them a few mins from home! “My husband and I went for our second round of IVF at CC this past fall. We have a 22 month old daughter that we conceived at CC after a frozen transfer so we have had plenty of experience with all of the staff at CC. I cannot say enough positive things about the doctors, nurses, embryologist, ultrasonographers and the entire team. Dr. Meyer is always available on email (and he will answer any question, no matter how ridiculous! 🙂 – as i figured out from experience. It is very comforting to know that if you are in a panic (which will happen while going through this process) your doctor is available to answer your question without having to jump through hoops. I expected this time to be much calmer about the process and not have any “freakout” moments… not the case. Every step felt just as critical as the first time and the frozen transfer.
The IVF nurse, Meghan makes you feel comfortable and relaxed and you honestly feel like her only patient from the classes to the retrieval and transfer. She did everything to schedule my classes (i had to take 2), appointments around my work and travel schedule. She even called me one day to walk through a hypothetical schedule to ease my mind that it would all workout. Heather, the genius embryologist is so much fun to be around you forget what a stressful situation the whole process is. She remembers all of her patients and geniunely is concerned about their success.
I started my medications and after not responding as hoped after 5 days of (expensive) injections Dr. Couchman called me personally to recommend stopping the medications, canceling this cycle and starting over at the risk of having a less than desirable outcome. She was convinced that we could “do better” and she didn’t feel comfortable with me wasting anymore time or money on medications and a retrieval when the situation is not ideal. I was having a “freakout” moment because of my schedule with work and i was mentally prepared to be moving forward. She assured me that they would work around my schedule if at all possible. She was very honest and optimistic about starting fresh. So that is what we did and we tried a completely different regimen with different medications and wow, my response was better than 3 yrs ago! now i am 14 wks pregnant with twins and so far so good! My husband and I both always wanted 3 children but three years ago we gave up on that plan. I can’t believe we are in this position. thanks to the team at CC we have more excitement than we ever thought was possible. We would travel across the country for CC but we are lucky to have them a few mins from home!”

Dr. Park, My patients were very appreciative of you and said you had a terrific manner about you, which I knew they would.
Letter from a referring physician:
My patients were very appreciative of you and said you had a terrific manner about you, which I knew they would. I thought it especially noteworthy that the patients wanted me to inform you of their miscarriage, only because they thought you would care. In my experience patients don’t always have that impression about doctors. I think you made a genuine impression on them. Also, I really appreciated the phone call you made to our office, as well. That kind of personal touch is definitely not the rule.
Thank you again for your excellent service to these patients. Despite their loss, they regard you fondly.
Our sincere thanks and love go out to you all who helped us get to this point – and here’s to much success for all your other patients who are hoping to get pregnant just like we were a few months ago! “Just wanted to give you a quick pregnancy update and let you know all is going well so far! I am now 12 weeks & 4 days, and hoping the morning sickness, which is all day sickness really, will be winding down soon. Other than that, it’s been wonderful so far – little Baby B. is growing like a weed, and I just saw him/her again this morning on an ultrasound, moving around, waving arms and legs and even sucking his/her thumb. SO amazing!!! All my blood tests have been perfect, and the NT scan & 1st trimester screening were completely normal. My due date is April 21, 2011, and not sure how many updates I’ll be sending you guys between now and then, but I am hoping for another 6 months of successfully being pregnant (hey, just BEING pregnant is a huge accomplishment for us!!) and a healthy little baby at the end of it all.
Our sincere thanks and love go out to you all who helped us get to this point – and here’s to much success for all your other patients who are hoping to get pregnant just like we were a few months ago! It’s a long and emotional road for anyone who has to travel it, but well worth it in the end.”

Dr. Meyer was very supportive throughout the whole process. He would personally call with test results and even said he wore his lucky underwear for us. We interacted with Dr. Meyer, Couchman and Park and feel they are all great and make a good team. “Like others, I was afraid to write for fear of jinxing the outcome. After conceiving our son so easily, we were surprised to find ourselves struggling for a second baby. Due to my ‘advance maternal age’ I wanted to be proactive. We looked at another clinic in the area but it felt very cold and clinical. When we went to Carolina Conceptions, just in the waiting room you could feel the difference. The staff is very personable and reassuring. Dr. Meyer was very supportive throughout the whole process. He would personally call with test results and even said he wore his lucky underwear for us. We interacted with Dr. Meyer, Couchman and Park and feel they are all great and make a good team.
In the end our dream of a second baby came true. We now have the most beautiful baby girl in the world. I would and have recommended Carolina Conceptions to others. Even if we had not been successful we still would recommend Carolina Conceptions.”

I pinch myself every morning as I begin my day with our most precious gift: a sweet, healthy, active, babbling baby girl. We are grateful every second of the day for this wonderful experience of parenthood. “Our daughter is now 7 months old and it has taken me this long to find the right words to thank Carolina Conceptions for all they have helped us achieve. I wanted to write a testimonial immediately after getting the positive pregnancy test, but didn’t want to “jinx” things. I wanted to write and say thanks when we reached the halfway mark of our pregnancy, but I still felt so afraid that it was all too good to be true. I wanted to express our gratitude after our daughter was born, but the words wouldn’t come to me even then. I pinch myself every morning as I begin my day with our most precious gift: a sweet, healthy, active, babbling baby girl. We are grateful every second of the day for this wonderful experience of parenthood. After several years of trying to start our family, we got pregnant after our first round of IVF with Carolina Conceptions. Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us achieve the greatest joy of our life.”
My husband and I are back in Africa and will not stop referring every hopeful mother to Carolina Conceptions. “My husband and I are short of words and have for months been searching for the right words to use in describing our experience in Carolina Conception. Like I simply told a friend, “its the only place to go” not because we have recently been blessed with a bouncing baby boy at first trial but simply because of the atmosphere there, the full of faith, motherly and confident Dr Grace Couchman who despite our inner fears made us feel like the whole procedure was like a walk in the park, not to mention ever cheerful nurses and the always ready to listen and confident Dr Meyer and Dr Park.
I remember when we came out of the scan room were we confirmed I was pregnant, the nurses in eagerness asked how many? Like they were sure before hand that it was positive.
My husband and I are back in Africa and will not stop referring every hopeful mother to Carolina Conceptions.”
Thank you again for everything, both the medical support and the caring experience. We are filled with excitement about our future, and gratitude about how we got this far. “Dr. Park, I’ve been wanting to write to you for weeks, since we first had a positive pregnancy test, but was afraid of “jinxing” things until we had a good U/S and knew for sure things looked good. But we are THRILLED, and so very grateful to you and your colleagues for everything you have done for us. Our entire experience with Carolina Conceptions has been amazing – so supportive and friendly and easy. From the first time we met, you made me feel so at ease, and you reassured us at times when I had little confidence that we could get pregnant. And on the first IVF try! Wow. You have been so patient with me and all my questions, and I am so grateful for that. You really made me feel comfortable, and made a scary and intimidating process much less so. You have an amazing “bedside manner” and a wonderful communication style. And, of course, we are grateful to you for your expertise during my retrieval.
Since that time, Dr. Meyer has been terrific, from the transfer through both our ultrasounds (though I think my notebook of questions scared him a bit more than it did you!). 🙂 The nurses and staff have also been so friendly and caring and competent – it truly was the most nurturing medical environment I have ever been in. It made me so sad to leave you all today, feeling like I have to leave this protective cocoon where I have an entire team of wonderful people rooting me on. And of course, we cannot say enough about Michelle, our embryologist, who created our baby and took good care of our little embryos for their first few days. She is like our angel!
We will certainly keep in touch, and hope very much to have some wonderful news to share with you in late September!
Thank you again for everything, both the medical support and the caring experience. We are filled with excitement about our future, and gratitude about how we got this far.”
We had visited other clinics. . . Carolina Conceptions was different and was concerned with informing us and allowing us to direct treatment. “My wife and I, after years of trying, had considered that childbirth was probably beyond us. We decided to continue trying and got involved with Carolina Conceptions. All the issues we wrestled with a year ago seem surreal and distant because our baby’s now a week old. This has been a wonderful experience for my family.
We had visited other clinics and most providers seemed more interested in our compliance with their own marketing and educational programs than with any particular concern for my family. Carolina Conceptions was different and was concerned with informing us and allowing us to direct treatment. When it came to treating our family as their primary concern, Carolina Conceptions stood alone. I use to wish there were thousands of clinics like Carolina Conceptions because the people and facilities are top notch, but I overestimated because we really only needed one.
It is with humble appreciation that I consider how Dr. Couchman, Dr Meyers and Dr. Parks contributed to our family’s growth. They exude confidence and professionalism with talented experts who are aware of their capabilities. I could go on, but time is precious when the baby’s fallen asleep. I don’t remember what exactly I was worried about a year ago because my ideas have been wiped away by a strong sense of what’s important, and he’s sleeping now.”
After a decade of treatments and having worked with all the fertility centers in the NC area, we owe our miracle to Dr. Grace Couchman and her absolutely wonderful dedicated team at Carolina Conceptions. “After a decade of treatments and having worked with all the fertility centers in the NC area, we owe our miracle to Dr. Grace Couchman and her absolutely wonderful dedicated team at Carolina Conceptions. It took a couple of years but no one gave up on us and the entire team was always positive offering hope at every turn. Unlike the other clinics, there was very little waiting during the morning clinic hours which means a lot to those of us having to fit in the treatments while carrying a full time job. Our little boy was born in Dec-09 and we can’t thank Dr. Couchman enough for not giving up on us and making our dream come true!”
We can’t repeat it enough, but we are so thankful for Carolina Conceptions allowing us to make our dream of a family become a reality… the tagline for CC is perfect! “We can’t repeat it enough, but we are so thankful for Carolina Conceptions allowing us to make our dream of a family become a reality… the tagline for CC is perfect! After being frustrated for some time at not being able to conceive, and after being referred to (along with other high recommendations) CC, we came to see Dr Meyer – cautiously optimistic.
We were blown away from day 1… by the comfort of the office, by the warmth of the entire staff, and the competence and confidence of the doctors. Dr Meyer, Dr Couchman, and Dr Park all played significant roles as we journeyed through to the day we got “the call” telling us “Congratulations, You’re pregnant!” Such an amazing feeling that words can’t describe, and even more amazing now that our son has arrived and is a wonderful and healthy 5 week old!! … We could go on for days, eventually just running out of positive adjectives for everyone at CC. It was – quite ironically – very difficult to “graduate” to the regular OB simply due to the comfort and confidence we felt at CC.
Simply put, The Drs and the entire staff at Carolina Conceptions are a dream team helping family dreams come true. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU”
After a long year and a half of infertility testing and exhausting treatments, my husband and I are finally expecting…twins! “As 2010 begins my husband and I have a great deal to be thankful for. After a long year and a half of infertility testing and exhausting treatments, my husband and I are finally expecting…twins! For what felt like an eternity, I truly believed I would never know the joy of having a baby. I had resolved myself to the idea that perhaps it just wasn’t in the cards for me. When my husband and I finally decided to give IVF a try as a “last resort” I just knew like everything else it wouldn’t work. At my first consultation with Dr. Couchman I felt encouraged and hopeful and most of all I felt like she was committed to making this work for us. Not only was she proactive, she was organized and efficient and everything she was planning for our treatment was specific to me and not just a general protocol. I spent a lot of treatments prior to coming to Carolina Conceptions that I simply felt part of a trial process and “let’s see what might work” approach, this was not the case with Dr. Couchman. Something my husband and I will remember specifically is ANY time we had questions we could email Dr. Couchman or any of the nurses and they got back to us right away, Dr. Couchman even emailed us back within an hour on a Sunday. We couldn’t believe how committed everyone was to making us feel comfortable and informed and it was nice to know we had doctors that cared. After our retrieval and transfer (done by Dr. Park) it was again Dr. Park who did our first sonogram when we saw those two beautiul heartbeats. Words cannot express the level of gratitude my husband and I will always have to Dr. Park for the part he has played in making our life long dream come true. We will forever be thankful to you Dr. Park and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way than to have you be the one to show us the heartbeats. Everyone in the Carolina Conceptions office was wonderful to us, I cannot begin to count the number of emails and phone calls Tracy sent back and forth to my husband and I as we went through the IVF process. Tracy was our personal cheerleader the whole time and answered every question this very nervous patient had, she was calming and supportive and she never passed any judgments. And when the news finally came that we were in fact expecting it felt like everyone at the CC office was genuinely happy for us. It’s hard to believe that we are now preparing for our twins arrival. I would recommend Carolina Conceptions to anyone, especially those who need the support and encouragment necessary to continue going through the very difficult journey of infertility. Thanks again to everyone at CC! ”

I just wanted to take a second to thank you and Dr. Meyer for helping me feel so comfortable during the donor process. “I just wanted to take a second to thank you and Dr. Meyer for helping me feel so comfortable during the donor process. I was very nervous at first about the process and the outcome, but you guys made me feel so at ease the whole time and I genuinely appreciate it.
I am very hopeful for the recipents and I’m really rooting for them. Some of the best parents I know had to go through IVF and I’m sure that these two people will be no exception. I hope all of their dreams are realized and they have the baby (or babies!) of their dreams!
I’d love to go through this process again, should the need ever arise for another couple. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if I can help again…of course, not until this bloated feeling goes away! 🙂
Thanks again, so much!”

I must admit that prior to my first visit with you I was convinced that I was broken. That my “parts” didn’t work. “Dr. Meyer, I wish I could find the right words to describe the feelings my husband and I had when our home pregnancy test showed a plus sign. Joy or excitement just doesn’t seem powerful enough. After fourteen frustrating months of trying you were able to get us pregnant after two short months!
I must admit that prior to my first visit with you I was convinced that I was broken. That my “parts” didn’t work. During our first consultation you were so informative, optimistic and encouraging that my husband and I left there knowing that you would make it happen one way or another! Our doubts started to fade and we became confident in our baby making abilities. We are now expecting our first born in July of 2010! We truly are grateful for everything you did and we have already started recommending you to others. Thank you so much!
During our very quick process we ordered the “male prenatal” vitamin from Coast Reproductive. Since they only allow you to purchase a three month supply, we have extra. If anyone is interested in purchasing this product we would like to offer it to you at a substantial discount and no shipping! Please let the staff at Carolina Conceptions know and they will contact us. Good luck!”

After 1 month of treatment we had the results we had been waiting for without having to go through IUI or IVF treatment. “Our dearest Thanks to the wonderful doctors and exceptional staff at Carolina Conceptions. Though our experience was short, a good thing in many regards, we are thankful for the relationships we have made and our little miracle you helped create. After three years of no success and lots of frustration, Carolina Conceptions gave us the confidence and knowledge we needed. After 1 month of treatment we had the results we had been waiting for without having to go through IUI or IVF treatment. Carolina Conceptions truly works miracles!”

I have recommended Carolina Conceptions to many of my co-workers and friends. “As I look down at my 6 month old beautiful baby boy, I think of the journeywe have taken to get here. I’m so grateful that my doctor referred us to Carolina Conceptions. We had the most wonderful experience there. Through our journey we were able to meet and work with Dr. Meyers, Dr. Couchman and Dr. Park. Each one was helpful, caring and supportive. We are now planning to visit Carolina Conceptions again to hopefully make Connor a big brother. I have recommended Carolina Conceptions to many of my co-workers and friends. Thank you to everyone at Carolina Conceptions for helping us along our journey and hopefully we will be seeing you again, soon.”

We are so grateful to all of the staff at Carolina Conceptions – from the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed and cared for.
“My husband and I came to Carolina Conceptions after relocating to NC in May of 2009. We had already been through two years of infertility testing and treatments, two devastating miscarriages and a surgery. For us, it seemed like it was going to be a neverending process of getting our hopes up and being let down. I met with Dr. Meyer to review our history. He suggested changing the current treatment we were on and I happily agreed to anything he thought would work for us. I am very thrilled to say after the 1st month under Carolina Conceptions care, we conceived! I am now entering my second trimester and can’t wait to meet our little one in April 2010! We are so grateful to all of the staff at Carolina Conceptions – from the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed and cared for. Thank you for making our dream come true!”

Dr. Shaban and all of the doctors at Carolina Conceptions helped make the impossible possible. “Thank you Carolina Conceptions! My husband and I are thrilled to be expecting identical twin boys by the end of this month! Our journey began when after 3 years of marriage we tried to conceive on our own. After one year of trying and no success, we went through basic infertility testing last summer. I was not ovulating on a regular monthly basis, and an even bigger surprise was that my husband was diagnosed with azoospermia. We were devastated and felt that this was likely the “end of the road” in our journey to conceive.
However, Dr. Shaban and all of the doctors at Carolina Conceptions helped make the impossible possible. After a testicular biopsy in December revealed a small amount of sperm, our hope was renewed. I underwent IVF with ICSI in February and found out we were pregnant on March 4th! This is the “condensed form” of our journey but it reminds me of the heartaches and hopes with each test and procedure that we went through.
My heart goes out to other couples who are going through the infertility journey right now. My advice to you is to not give up hope and try your hardest to stay positive. Our prayers were answered and now my husband and I pray for all of you who may be reading these testimonials looking for hope.”

Not even one million internet searches, could match the hope and comfort Dr. Couchman provided during our initial visit. “It is 4 a.m. – I am missing my “straight eight” I so fondly remember as I quietly tip-toe down the hall. In the opinion of so many- sleep experts, pediatricians, parents, non-parents, family, friends, neighbor down the street ….and quite possibly myself, my nine month old son is most definitely NOT hungry…but I don’t mind…
In the dim light of the nightlight, the outline of his face and little hands reminds me of the grainy ultrasound pictures from my last trimester. In my sleepy haze I think back to a time that SEEMS so long ago, but in reality, no that long ago. Following a second miscarriage in less than a year, my husband and I were presented with hysteroscopic pictures of something “not normal, definitely needs to be fixed” and advised not to have children until we sought the advice of a specialist. My OBGYN handed me the card of a specialist that had opened a new practice just across the street. While a practice “just across the street” seemed very convenient, we were completely blind-sighted with an overwhelming decision. In the weeks prior to our initial consultation at Carolina Conceptions, I scoured the internet looking for information, support from others, advice and the names of “good doctors” from local to the west coast.
The day of our initial consultation, I came with my notes in hand for our “interview” of Dr. Couchman, to see whether this “good doctor” could really be located so close? Not even one million internet searches, could match the hope and comfort Dr. Couchman provided during our initial visit. An ultrasound during the same appointment confirmed two possible diagnoses- a uterine septum or bicornuate uterus. In the moment she assured my husband, that a baby would be possible, the inexplicable sadness we had been feeling was replaced by hope. A little over a month later, my surgery with Dr. Couchman was quickly scheduled after an initial HSG followed by an MRI to confirm the presence of a “remarkably” wide septum, which prevented my previous pregnancies from reaching past 10 weeks. The most discomfort from the procedure, in my case, was slight cramping and a sore throat from the breathing tube put in place, in case laparoscopy was needed. With the help of ibuprofen, I was back at work within 24 hours. We got pregnant with our little boy on our “3rd try”…just like the previous 2 pregnancies.
Not before I lay Tyler back in his crib, I pray for couples so desperately hoping, waiting….choking back a lump in your throat after the one millionth time of “so when are YOU going to have a baby?” Having a baby is not merely a choice we made, but a true blessing from above….made possible, in part, by gifted individuals like Dr. Couchman strategically placed in our paths.”

I would like to start off by saying that a true doctor is recognized from the quality of his work, staff and most of all interactions with his/her patients. “I would like to start off by saying that a true doctor is recognized from the quality of his work, staff and most of all interactions with his/her patients.
Thanks to a commercial one day which led my husband and I to Carolina Conceptions. Little did we know that this would be the beginning of the end of my four years of unexplained fertility and intensive treatments.
After undergoing a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, 5 failed IVF’s, 1 failed FET, many stopped IVF cycles and 3 failed IUI’s at another clinic we are now blessed with two 3 month old healthy twins and all thanks to Dr. Meyer and his caring staff. At Carolina Conceptions I was able to get pregnant by doing a stimulated IUI, which this procedure had never been mentioned to me at my previous clinic.
On our first meeting with Dr. Meyer we were so pleased that a doctor cared enough about his patients and his work to spend an hour going through our charts and previous procedures. Coming from our previous clinic where we had been going to for four years and were never able to sit down with the doctor for more than 15 minutes and better yet receive clear answers to our questions. After hitting rock bottom emotionally we came out of our first meeting at Carolina Conceptions with the hope that we still had a chance to become parents one day.
I would like to say that as a patient at Carolina Conceptions you are not intimidated to ask a question or to call/email the practice and know that you will be answered immediately. How many doctors give you their personal email and send holiday cards following up with their patients? Dr. Meyer does! So with all the procedures behind us we wake up every day and are so thankful that we were blessed to be in the hands of the doctors and staff at Carolina Conceptions. Thanks to Dr. Meyer and his team we are the proud parents of a healthy baby boy and girl.
So my advice to anyone reading this testimonial, please do not give up hope and pay Carolina Conceptions a visit. You will immediately see the difference from other clinics. A comfort ing environment is very critical in the stressful process of infertility.”

I have been tempted to write you a note many times expressing my thanks for all you did for us. “Dr. Park, we have chosen an adoption agency, filled out the preliminary application, and have been accepted. We have to go to a required meeting on the 30th and then will be invited to complete the formal application. It won’t be a quick process but we’re excited to watch it unfold. I have been tempted to write you a note many times expressing my thanks for all you did for us but, since it wouldn’t have been the kind to put up on the bulletin board, I guess I hesitated. Even though our fertility treatment didn’t turn out the way we had hoped, you and your staff were as caring and thoughtful as possible. Our journey to becoming parents has definitely not been a straight road but, if it had been, I wouldn’t have had the benefit of meeting you and all the wonderful staff at Carolina Conceptions. I hope all is well with you and your family and wish you continued success. Thanks again.”

Today, I am holding my beautiful baby boy. “One year ago today, Andy & I were in your office for our egg retrieval. Today, I am holding my beautiful baby boy. I cannot express my gratitude to the staff at Carolina Conceptions. The entire staff treated us with the utmost respect and compassion. From the first consultation with Dr. Couchman to the last confirmation ultrasound with Dr. Meyer, we knew that we had chosen the right clinic. Dr. Park performed the transfer and even though it was our first meeting, I immediately felt comfortable with him. You all provide so much hope to those of us who dream of becoming a parent. You all will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We always recommend Carolina Conceptions to anyone who is struggling with conception. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

As patients of a former clinic, our experience at Carolina Conceptions was like night and day. It was a pleasant experience all around! The people (the doctors, nurses, medical assistants and all the staff) are what make the difference! They help to make a stressful and anxious situation, a lot easier to deal with and they are happy to spend time with their patients. We would definetly recommend Carolina Conceptions to anyone who needs help making a baby!”

“I cannot describe in words the happiness and joy we feel at this point. This is all thanks to Carolina Conceptions. We began our journey with Carolina Conceptions about a year and a half ago after attempting to conceive for almost 6 years. We had moved from another state to NC in 2006. We now have 2 beautiful babies (twins) a boy and a girl who are now 7 months old. We still look at our babies with awe and pinch ourselves that we are finally parents. I could write a whole book about our numerous trials and visits with our previous infertility specialists in the 6 years we tried to conceive back home (chlomid and IUIs) and the famous diagnosis of “unexplained infertility”. You would think that if everything is working, then why can’t we get pregnant. Our last hope was invitro / ICSI. The doctors and staff at Carolina Conceptions were very caring, thourough and made us feel part of their family. Their approach was one of care and high quality vs. businesslike as we’ve encountered in other places. Not once did we feel hurried, rushed or that we were a burden. We didn’t feel at any time that we were “bothering” too much with our questions and phone calls. We felt that we were taken by the hand and we were the only “clients” there. We had a low percentage of getting pregnant, but you can never lose hope and faith. Thank you Dr. Meyer and Dr. Couchman and the whole staff as well.”

“As I sat down to write this I look down at a beautiful sleeping two week old baby girl. We first came to Carolina Conceptions when we had lost all hope of having a family of our own. We had tried to conceive for over a year with help from our ob/gyn and the use of Metformin and Letrazole, but nothing seemed to work to stimulate ovulation. Our first meeting with Dr. Meyer gave us hope and confidence that a plan was in place and it would be possible to conceive. We went through the first three cycles with the last one resulting in a miscarriage. At each visit we felt taken care of and as if we were the most important patient. Following this cycle Dr. Meyer suggested that we move to injectibles. This was very scary, but Dr. Meyer was very comforting while explaining the risks and benefits. We decided to move forward with the plan. Both Dr. Meyer and Dr. Couchman provided continous monitoring and guidance while Nikki and staff provided quick blooddraws. This process allowed us to achieve our dream of a beautiful baby girl. We cannot begin to thank Dr. Meyer and Dr. Couchman and staff enough for helping us to become a family. We are already planning to visit Carolina Conceptions in a few years to make Ellie a big sister. Anyone struggling with infertility do not lose hope; Carolina Conceptions can help you achieve your dream.”
